像之前文章跟各位分享的，英文裡面可以用很多不同的句子表達同一件事，當你今天要表達『我很忙』時，你還在說”I’m busy”嗎？
* I’m busy 在某些對話中其實看起來很沒禮貌。 例如某人問你有沒有空去吃飯，如果你只說I’m busy 就會很不禮貌唷- A: Hey, are you free for lunch today? B: No, I am busy. 當然加上一些字可能就可以緩和你的語氣，像是: Oh, I wish I could but I am a bit busy today.
Anyway, 今天跟各位分享七種不同的方式來取代I’m busy.
1. I’m tied up.
Be tied up 是指『非常忙碌』的意思，tie 本身有綑綁的意思，所以可以從情境思考，有種被工作捆綁著的感覺唷。
例句：Mrs Lin is tied up in a meeting at the moment but I'll ask her to call you later. 林女士正忙著會議，我等等會請他回電給你。
＊補充My hands are tied 我無能為力
2. I’m up to my eyes.
be up to one’s eyes in sth. 這個片語用來表達『忙得不可開交』的意思，如果要表達針對某事忙碌，可以使用介系詞in 唷。
例句：I'm up to my eyes in homework this week. 這個星期作業忙得我團團轉。
3. My plate is full.
My plate is full 是個譬喻的用法，表示因為很忙沒有辦法做其他的事情，在對話中特別是指無法協助做什麼事情。
例句：Can you help me with this? Sorry, my plate is full at the moment. 你可以幫我嗎？/抱歉我現在有點忙。
另外我們也常用“have/get sth on your plate”來表示很忙。
例句：She's got a lot on her plate. 她有很多事情要做。
4. I’ve got lots to do.
這邊使用現在完成式，用來表示『最近都有很多事情要忙』。
5. I’m swamped.
Swamp 本身有『淹沒』的意思，所以在這邊要表達的意思就是『我快被工作淹沒了』也就是快忙死了！
例句：Are you free tonight? / No, I’m swamped. 你今晚有空嗎？/ 不，我快忙死了。
6. I’m up to my neck.
跟前面的up to one’s eyes in sth. 一樣的意思，指的是非常的忙碌。
例句：I'd like to help, but I'm up to my neck at the moment. 我也希望可以幫你，只是我現在實在太忙了。
7. I am as busy as a bee.
as busy as bee 是一個諺語的用法，意指『忙得團團轉』，當然蜜蜂剛好很忙（?）通常是不會換成其他動物的唷！
